Laura literally saved my life. Her skills and knowledge run deep, her integrity means that she researches and recommends the best holistic approach for each client upon each visit. She brings skill, knowledge and deep intuition to her practice with a healthy dose of good humor and an extraordinary amount of compassion. She's pretty much ruined it for all other naturopaths I've met since and whose services I've used. None can compare with the skill, knowledge and care I received from Dr. Rubiales.

When we first came to see Dr. Rubiales, my daughter Liz really felt there was little hope to feel better and nothing she could do to control her life and headaches. Jump ahead to the present and with no small thanks to Dr. Rubiales, she lives much more pain free, she is empowered to control her reaction to pain, and she is much more positive! Thank you does seem inadequate! We are thankful for Dr. Rubiales being such a blessing and role model in our lives.

As a medical professional in the field of pediatrics for 18 years, I am very impressed with Dr. Rubiales' approach to children. Her easy and soft-spoken manner is a natural fit. Her knowledge of Homeopathy as well as her ability to blend it with mainstream medical therapies is excellent. I would highly recommend her as a Naturopathic Physician to anyone looking for alternative care for his or her child. I also feel she complements what traditional MD's and providers are practicing in medicine today. Her collegiality and professionalism is very reassuring to both parents and providers.

We were desperate when we met Dr. Rubiales in August 2006. My 11 year old daughter had suffered constant headaches and dizziness for several months as a result to an autoimmune reaction to pneumonia. She had spent 2.5 weeks in care and treatment programs of two hospitals and at least 2.5 months at home without ever being free of her symptoms. She was not able to attend school and often we had to interrupt the one-hour in-home school instruction because of unmanageable pain. At times she could not walk. It is difficult to describe with words how deeply we were moved when Dr. Rubiales' first acupuncture treatment took away her pain and all other symptoms. What a relief to learn that there was a cure! For at least a month we traveled 100 miles to Sedona to see Dr. Rubiales three times a week and every time the pain stayed away a little while longer. When school started my daughter was ready to dive into the challenges of school again and to continue with her love for ballet. During the next few years she would dance principal parts in the Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty and it was amazing for us to see her high jumps and graceful balancing acts on her partner's shoulder during special pas de deux. This year she is graduating from high school with three diplomas: from the traditional high school, the International High School and the International Baccalaureate.
Dr Rubiales' constant care did not only help immensely in the acute situation, as a thorough Naturopath she continued to care for strengthening and balancing body and mind. She also kept track of all obvious and not so obvious symptoms and addressed them effectively with homeopathic remedies, Chinese herbs, and Acupuncture. Adding visualization exercises to the Acupuncture treatments opened up many new inner experiences and insights for my daughter and for discussions among all of us. Dr. Rubiales brings Western and Eastern alternative healing methods into harmony advocating for a holistic approach to healing. She provides the best care possible and is always willing to listen, give advice and/or to consult with other physicians involved. She has certainly been one of our good angels on my daughter's journey into adulthood.

As a certified Child Neurologist and Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Oregon Health and Science University, I began collaborating with Dr. Rubiales on some of my more difficult patients. I specialize in Child and Adolescent Headaches but also have had considerable numbers of patients with conversion disorders. Dr. Rubiales has been invaluable in terms of her skills to offer these patients avenues of relief which may take months using conventional pharmacology. For the last several years we have closely collaborated with Chronic Daily Headache in Adolescents. In fact, we presented our experience and data at the 2009 Pediatric Academic Society Meeting in Baltimore, MD.
Integrating a conventional allopathic pharmacologic approach with a Naturopathic and Eastern approach with Chinese herbs and Acupuncture has been the single most important tool I have to offer many of my chronic headache patients. Her interpersonal skills when working with people of all ages but especially youth is profound. While so many children can be intimidated by what appears to be strange eastern modalities, Dr. Rubiales is able to relax the child and have complete cooperation. The family is relieved and also comforted by her gentle manner. This is unfortunately a rare talent and she needs to be recognized not only as a skilled Care Provider but as a real humanitarian with great empathy and care for her patients and patient families.
In summary, it is without reservation that I highly recommend Dr. Laura Rubiales as a skilled, empathic, caring, and knowledgeable Care Provider who is able to integrate Western and Eastern medical practices. She offers both the patient and families health care modalities which are often times difficult to access and not well integrated with western medicine.
